Manyaseema

Manyaseema is a non-profit, non-political, and community-based organization working with tribal and rural communities in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1998 and registered in 2001, the organization focuses on sustainable livelihood development, environmental conservation, and empowerment of marginalized communities.

2001

The Foundation

Manyaseema was formally established and registered to work with tribal communities in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh.

2001-2004

Community Forest Management (CFM)

Implemented community forest management initiatives with support from the World Bank focusing on plantation, livelihood training, and sustainable forest use.

2003-2006

Rehabilitation Action Plan (RAP)

Supported tribal communities shifting from Podu cultivation to sustainable livelihoods through check dam construction and small livelihood enterprises like tent houses, kirana shops, and transport services.

2008–2010

Youth & Child Development Programs

Implemented child rights protection and youth capacity-building programs with support from government and development organizations.

2011–2012

NTFP Value Addition Training

Training programs were conducted to improve processing and marketing of forest produce such as honey and amla.

2013–2014

Value Addition Programs Expanded

Programs focused on value addition of amla, adda leaf products, and tamarind to improve tribal incomes.

2014–2016

Area Based MFP Development Program

Large-scale training programs were conducted to promote value addition and marketing of Minor Forest Produce across tribal villages.

2016–2017

Biodiversity Conservation Programs

Biodiversity documentation and environmental conservation initiatives were implemented in tribal areas.

2020–2021

Van Dhan Vikas Kendras

Community groups were formed to strengthen collection, processing, and marketing of forest produce.

2022–2025

Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)

Formation of Sugumuna FPO and Arunatara FPO with NABARD support to improve market access and collective marketing for tribal farmers.
